Fees: NO EVENT FEE. Groups will need to provide for own accomodations. Camping fees go:
- $13 per site per night, $2 more per night for out of staters (site includes for 2 cars and 6 people in 2 tents)
$10 reservation fee; can be avoided if site rented upon arrival, but no guarantee of availability
$10 parking permit fee for Saturday
Campground Policies: Drinking is allowed in the park, but you are responsible for your members. Campsites are frequently patrolled by police, and any fines for underage drinking will be solely on the shoulders of your group. Any such groups will be asked not to attend next year's battle.
Campfires in designated pits are allowed, but out of state firewood is not. Such firewood will be confiscated and owners fined.
Quiet hours are from 11 pm to 6 am. No radioes, boom boxes, or other noise producing devices will be allowed between these times.
Please, we would like to keep Devil's Lake as a possible event site for next year, so be on your best behavior, and keep Dagorhir's, our unit's, and your unit's good name.
What this is is a playtesting venture for the park to see how it would fit needs for a Dagorhir battle next fall. It is a GORGEOUS park, especially in the fall, and 3 hours of fighting gives your crew lots of time to explore the beautiful bluffs, hang out with Dagorhirrim in relaxed setting, and help us design our battle for next year. Be warned: the bluffs are bluffs, and the typical no sole, no support moccasins I've often seen will KILL your feet during hiking.
There may be another similar venture to a different park to compare come spring. Stay tuned.
If you are interested in helping plan/run next year's battle, but cannot attend on these dates, please get a hold of me. Atm, we are too small a unit to pull this off by ourselves and could use all the help of true veterans that is offered.
